Suit Sat-1

Sounds of Suit-Sat

Another interesting fact about SuitSat is that it was filled with Laundry from the ISS to give it its full shape.  In the audio from the launch, Valery Tokarev  is heard via an interpreter to say,  "Good bye Mr. Smith."

Suit Sat a Ball Of Fire

Suit Sat has finally burned up in the atmosphere. The satellite burnt up during atmospheric re-entry 1,400km south west of Australia at 1500UTC on 7 September.

This took longer than expected, it was due to only last about 2 to 8 weeks but, it infact lasted from Feb 3rd, that is 8 months.

This may have proven a valuable experiment for future launches.
