The pole in the background is the Rotary Washing line, upturned and equipped with a Slinky spring toy over a pvc tube.  The tuner tunes  it to 1:1 on all but top band…..Results rather poor.  In all honesty, I prefer horizontal wire on the HF bands.

This one is better than the washing line.  It consists of 5 turns on a 2ft square former. Each turn is separated by 1 inch.  This equates to about 35 ft of wire.

As you can see, it goes up quite a height.  Don tells me he has great success with it when he is on safari in his motor-home.  A better view of the pole can be seen on our mills on the Air pages.
