Mills On The Air

Incorporating 2006 event

This was the second year we operated from the mill / museum site.  This time we set up the di-pole away from the building.  There is an old disused power pole on the corner of one of the buildings.  We used it last year but, it only held up the centre  of the aerial.  This year we had it holding up one end, and the other end held aloft via a set of swaged poles.  This proved better than last year.  Don's vertical roach pole fitted to his camper van was even better.

We must bear in mind that it is a museum open to the public and safety is of prime importance.

The views here, show the site from two sides. The tower has undergone renovation work, It can be seen from these photographs, there is the beginnings of trees growing from the top.

This has now been removed and the pointing completed.

The history of the area can be found at the following web site.

Kingswood Museum is at Tower Road Warmley just off of the Avon Ring Road, before you get to LongwellGreen (from the Kingswood end). Sign posted Cadbury Heath. Follow this road over a mini roundabout and it is on the left.  You will find that it is only 1/4 mile from the ring road.
